Serviio serve DLNA over the default port 1900 with UDP, the media itself will be provided over port 8895 with TCP. The last two ports are needed respectively to control the console and to access the mediabrowser Control serviio To control serviio, we have few options. It plays pretty much any format that I throw at it, refreshes the library automatically or you can force it to refresh right away after adding a file. If you are running a firewall on your machine you must also open ports 8895/tcp, 1900/udp, 23423/tcp and 23424/tcp. I found Serviio and haven't looked back because it just works. But it was very picky when it came to the different formats and updating media library, and I went looking for something better.
